Episode 18 – Career Concerns
Are career concerns any different today than they were 20 years ago?
Not really.
If anything, what is far improved is access to information about career options. That means that it ought to be an easier process of discovery. Between that and the tendency to be able to shadow and intern, discovering our “best fit” career path should be easy.
We must take advantage of all the resources, however. And we still need to take an accounting of our unique needs, desires, values and skill set.
This all fully correlates with what a prospective employer wants to know during an interview: Can you do this job? Will you (speaks to your motivations, interests and needs) do this job and How well do you fit in -with the team, culture. Do your values align with the organizations’s values?
